Today's idiom comes from the one we learnt last week. How does "mouse potato" sound to you? Are you one?
Whereas a couch potato is someone who spends most of their free time watching TV or videos, a mouse potato refers to a person who is always in front of the computer, surfing the internet or playing games.
This idiom dates back to the 1990s, so it's a brand new one -something which reminds us of the fact that language is constantly changing, evolving, and adapting to the needs of users.
Interestingly enough, if you google the words "mouse potato", you won't see may photos of people sitting at the computer, but of potatoes with the shape of mice... And the other way round!
